PDD Updates

Hi PDD Families,

We hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday break!  We wanted to send some updates for everyone as we are swamped with emails and phone calls since we have been closed for Winter Break.  Please see below:

  • PERFORMERS for HOLIDAY FESTIVUS - please email teachers or directors directly, not PDD, for any questions related to rehearsals, costumes, and/or performances.
  • FRI-SUN CLASSES - PDD reopens this Friday 1/2 thru Sunday 1/4 for regular classes in theatre, dance, and voice.  Please attend your classes that you were in prior to our closure and not your classes that you may have been promoted to.  Non-performers for Holiday Festivus that opted to not return to class prior to the show should return to their classes the week of Jan. 12.
  • PROMOTIONS - Class changes to reflect promotions are effective JAN. 12th.  For errors in class promotions, if you previously sent an email with corrections, I will be sure to make the changes prior to January 12th and will send you a confirmation of the change.

Again, please email teachers and directors directly for any pressing questions as we may not be able to respond to your emails sent to PDD prior to our reopening on Friday.

Thank you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Holiday Festivus: Quick Change Online Request Form

Now accepting American Express and Auto-Pay Direct from your Checking Account!

Hello PDD Families!

Good news :)  Pas De Deux now accepts American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover!  You can also enter your checking account information to have your monthly fees debited directly from your checking account!  Feel free to login and update your payment information.

Friendly reminder that your balance is due on the 1st of each month.  Also, if you haven't seen the posts and emails about our new payment procedure...

Starting January 2015, we require all families to enroll in Autopay which will be processed on the 28th of the month prior to which you are paying tuition.

This is to ensure that all account questions and concerns are addressed before your child's first class of the month.  We understand that classes can be costly and that every minute of class time is precious.  By creating this new payment policy we hope to ensure a productive and stress free learning environment for all.
On another note, we have done away with the Annual Registration Fees for existing customers.  This is just another way of showing our appreciation for your support and patronage throughout the years.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Costume Care

Hi PDD Families,

We wanted to share some important information regarding caring for your beautiful costumes!  Since these costumes are made to order, we cannot get replacements should something happen to them prior to the show.  See below or the attached document that you can print for reference.

Please keep the following in mind:

Keep in a safe place away from food/drinks or anything that could damage it.
 Keep on a hanger.
 Steam out wrinkles.
Do not launder your costume before the show!  This is to ensure it is not damaged.
Change out of your costume as soon as you are done at rehearsals and wear a cover if you eat/drink with your costume on.
AFTER the Show: Follow all cleaning directions on the tag when ready to clean your costume.  Some costumes cannot be washed so be sure to check the tag!

Hang upside down on a hanger to help the tulle from drooping.
Suggestion: Hang it in a bathroom after a hot shower so the steam helps to settle the tulle.
For tutus with fabric overlay (like the one pictured) be sure to tack it down with color matching thread
Check costumes with straps to make sure they fit properly.  If too long, straps can easily be taken in with a simple hand stitch and color matching thread.
If your costume is itchy, you can hand stitch a smooth color matching ribbon to the inside of the costume.
Undergarments should not be visible.  Wear a nude or flesh colored leotard or sports bra with clear straps that doesn't show, especially for those with quick changes.  If you must wear a panty make sure it is flesh colored or matching the color of your tights or if no tights, make sure it matches the color of your costume so it is not visible from the audience.

Check that shoes & tights are the appropriate color and clean without any holes or tears.   If not be sure to order a new pair now to receive in time for the show.
Layer your tights!  If you are in ballet & jazz and your first number in the line-up is jazz, put your pink tights on first, then put your tan tights over your pink tights so it's easy for a quick change.

Hair pieces:  Ballet (Bun Donut), Jazz (Fun Bun), Hip Hop (curly ponytail).
***Curly Ponytail, be sure to remove the inside banana clip for comfort.
Tights (see front desk for specific brand and shades)
Ballet & Creative Movement - Pink
 Jazz - Tan
Hip Hop - will be with costume if needed

If you have specific questions regarding your costume, please check with your instructor or director for assistance.

Thank you!
