New York State of Mind - Mandatory Headshots Information and Sign Ups


Vocal families,

We are preparing the program for our April 25 and 26th vocal showcase, New York State of Mind.

All performing students will be required to take a headshot.  It will be optional to purchase, but payments can be made to the Admin prior to your scheduled time.

Photo session: Saturday, April 12 from 10am - 5pm only.  Each time slot is limited to 3 people.  The poll will close on April 4th.  After that, anyone not signed up will be assigned a time slot.  If you are absolutely unable to make the photo shoot, please be email us so that we do not set aside a time for you and be prepared to send a digital version of a professional headshot to no later than April 7th.

Attire: Solid color tops with a clean neckline is recommended.  Stay away from busy prints and the color white.

Make up: Everyday make up.

Hair: Clean and freshly blow dried.

Musical Theatre Classes & Rehearsals


Aloha Theatre Families,

Some schedule notes:

1) Rehearsal for Thursday, 3/27 at 7p is CANCELLED.  Only dancers and Understudy Aladdin and Jasmine to run Whole New costume.

2) Call time for Friday show is 7p.  Be ready in costume, hair & makeup as we will run the last song and bows at 7:05p

3) Regular Saturday Classes will be held at 2p on 3/29.  Attendance is optional for cast members performing in the shows that night.  The 3:30p class will not be held due to call time and students performing in the later show.

4) There will NOT be a rehearsal before the shows on Saturday.  Saturday call time is 4p for the Understudy Cast and 6p for the Lead Cast.  (Since cast members are not required to be there more than 6 hours, only a snack and juice/water will be served between shows - we will not be providing pizza.  Please send a snack or dinner with your child and a coverup for their costume to avoid stains.  They may eat in between shows.).

5) ALL classes will resume with regular schedule starting Monday, 3/31.

Aladdin Jr - Thursday 3/20 Tech Reheasal


Aloha Theatre Families,

Some information given to students and clarified below regarding Thursday's rehearsal...

Thursday, 3/20 - Technical Rehearsal:

  • Call time is 7:00p - we will gather and start soon after.  This means at 7p sharp you are ready to go in full costumes, hair, makeup and microphones.  Come at 6:30p to prepare.
  • This will be for the LEAD cast, all Townspeople and SATURDAY Treasures ONLY. (If you are a character or townsperson while the leads perform - especially understudies such as Angeleia, Thiessen, Shanin, etc - you still need to be there.)
  • Volunteers will need to be there at 6:30p as well.  I will have job specific worksheets for microphones, stagehands, stage assistants, and propmaster.

Saturday, 3/22 - Understudy Rehearsal (before first Understudy show):

  • REGULAR CLASS WILL NOT BE HELD.  Call Time is 2:00p - we will gather and start soon after.  This means at 2p sharp you are ready to go in full costumes, hair, makeup and microphones.  Come at 1:30p to prepare.
  • This will be for the UNDERSTUDY cast and Townspeople. (If you are a character or townsperson while the understudies perform - especially leads such as Jarron, Evan, etc and includes Princes, Harem Girls and Narrators - you still need to be there.  Aviah will need to be there as she is filling in for Maalaea.)  SATURDAY Treasures do NOT have to be there and can arrive before the call time of 4p for the first show in full costume.
  • This was not regularly scheduled for volunteers but please attend if you can.

Monday Treasures are not performing this weekend.  However, there will still be the rehearsal on Monday, 3/24 for Leads and Understudies.  Any Saturday Treasures performing with the Monday group will also need to attend this Monday.  We will determine at that time if more rehearsal is needed on Thursday, 3/27.


Iconology Mandatory Rehearsal Schedule


Please see attached for the mandatory rehearsal schedule for Iconology.  The schedule contains all rehearsal dates for all classes and show tracks.  Teachers will be emailing a more detailed schedule to each class to confirm dates/times of rehearsals per class.  These are the same dates listed on the permission form that was completed for participation in the show.

Please direct any questions regarding your child's rehearsal/show to their instructor or dance department director.

LAS VEGAS - SUMMER 2014 Camp Pulse/Pulse on Tour Info and Online Poll


We are organizing an opportunity to meet up in Vegas this summer to attend Camp Pulse for ages 8-13 (Intermediate) and The Pulse on Tour for ages 11+ (Int/Adv.)

Las Vegas dates are July 4th - 6th at the Paris Hotel.  Please plan to arrive by July 3rd.

Teachers and Students, please fill out the online poll at the bottom to let us know if you are or aren't interested in attending so we can continue to coordinate group rates and organize fundraisers for those interested.

  • Optional shows: Jabbawokeez (Hip Hop), Celine Dion (Contemporary and Jazz)
  • Team Uniforms:  Jackets $85, Bag $35, 5 PDD Logo Tops at $10 each along with their normal class uniform.

Iconology Song Assignments & NY State of Mind - Vocal Showcase (April 25, 26)


Vocal students and families,

Thank you to everyone who submitted their auditions via the Ipads.  This seemed to work really well so we will continue to handle auditions for future opportunities this way.  Only a select group of singers will be representing the vocal department at Iconology, but the April showcase on April 25 and 26th will be an opportunity for everyone to participate.

Iconology singers are listed below.  Please be prepared to rehearse one month prior with the dance class for which you are singing.  Show times are Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 7pm -- as well as all tech rehearsals at LCC (see PDD blog for specific rehearsal dates/times).  If you have any conflict, please notify us at immediately.

Please send the name of your song choices to -- songs are of your choice but do need to fit the theme.  Please see your teacher for assistance in selecting a song.  You will also need to submit an MP3 of your song to us via email. Songs do not need to be cut down for time so have fun!
