I have had multiple parents inquire about classes during the month of June. Musical Theatre WILL BE CONTINUING CLASSES DURING JUNE. The only dates we will be closed are June 29th and 30th.
Principle Students are allowed to make up this missed class during the Ensemble Class OR during a beginning dance class in June!

We are in desperate need of volunteers!!! Unfortunately only 25% of volunteer positions have been filled. For those that said they would volunteer and haven't signed up yet, we will have to charge your account for the Volunteer Appreciation Fund ($25) so we can use those funds to hire help to fill those positions. So please sign up if you haven't done so already!
Be sure to include your T-shirt size in the comment box when you sign up. Also, if you are signing up to be a backstage class mom, list your class preference in the comment box as well. We will do our best to honor your choice, but if the class position has already been filled, we will place you with a class that needs assistance. We are restocking our inventory today and will be ready for sales after 4pm. Currently, several ballet shoes and hip hop adult size 5 shoes are on backorder from our uniform supplier. We will be receiving these sizes in time for concert, but at this time do not have an exact delivery date. Thank you to those that completed the shoe survey as it helped to see which sizes are most in demand for concert.
Please get your needed shoes and tights as early as possible in case we do sell out closer to concert and cannot get more sizes in time for the show. We will be restocking weekly until concert, so if we sell out, check back in a week or see to see if we received what you need.
Performance gear (make-up, hair accessories, nude undergarments) are expected soon as we have already placed our order for the items we need. Details should be emailed to each class as far as what is required for your performance.

What will this show be about? See the director message below...
Director's Message: As Ballet is the foundation of Jazz Dance & other forms, so is Art Song the foundation of Pop, Rock, Soul and other forms of music. This Recital is a tribute and a hommage to the artists of the Art Songs. Art Songs, from over 500+ years ago, pre-dates operas, symphonies, musical theater, jazz, popular music, and rock. If we had never had the Art song, where would our artists like Pat Benatar, Alannah Myles, Mariah Carey, Rodgers & Hammerstein & others, have been? These artists from our most recent times have their compositions rooted in the concepts of Art Song. Art songs has been the building block for other artists today such as Ariana Grande, Megan Trainor, and Taylor Swift. We hope you enjoy the journey of Western Music beginning with Italy to the American Opera, Musical Theater. Popular artists also have much respect, recognition, honor and significance for our future. What a delight that you have invested your hearts, time and energy into the most beautiful treasures of all~your children.

The PDD Logo duffles, backpacks, and garment bags have arrived! Items will be ready for pick-up starting Thursday after 4pm. Please see the front desk for your items if you placed an order. The order will be under the parent name on your PDD account. At this time we are unsure of future order dates and have not ordered extra items at this time.
Ticket pick up for those that pre-ordered the Tanioka's Fundraiser tickets will begin Wednesday after 5pm. Please see the front desk to pick up your tickets. The redemption dates have been extended at Tanioka's until July, so there are a few extra weeks to redeem the tickets. Dates will be printed on your tickets.
If you are signing up to be a backstage class mom volunteer, please be sure to indicate your class preference in the t-shirt size box. Be sure to include class name, day, and time. We will try to honor that request, but if the class mom positions have been filled or no preference is selected, we will place you where you are needed. Sign up early for your best chance of getting your first request.

Pas De Deux Hawaii's Semi-Annual Dance Recital "That's a Wrap!" set for June 26th-28th at Leeward Theatre is currently in need of Volunteers. Please check your availability before filling out the form using this link:
Dates and times that we need help are listed on the left column of the sign up. Feel free to sign up for more than one position on more than one day. A small description of each job is listed under each Volunteer Position Title. Jobs are listed in four hour shifts. Please only sign up for one shift under one job description at a time. Feel free to volunteer in multiple positions on different days.
Here are a few volunteer details:
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Please arrive in all Black Attire or wear a Pas De Deux Show Shirt or Uniform so you are easily identified
- Wear comfortable, toe covered shoes (i.e sneakers)
- Upon arrival please report to your Department Head listed under each job description.
- Please do not bring your non-performing children with you during your volunteer shift.
Deadline to sign up and submit a "That's a Wrap" T-shirt size is June 1st. If you are unable to volunteer please contribute to our Volunteer Appreciation Fund. Remember that volunteers don't get paid because they are worthless, they aren't paid because they are priceless.

With concert approaching, we know that many dancers are in need of new shoes! Shoes for performances must be in good condition, clean, and free of holes/tears. Although we bring in 1-2 of each shoe type and size regularly, demand for concert increases. In order to help us estimate how many of each shoe type and size we will need, please complete a quick survey with the link below for the type of shoe and size you anticipate needing to purchase. This is to help us determine how many of each shoe to bring in so we order enough and at the same time, aren't left with an overstock of shoes.
This survey does not guarantee a shoe will be in-stock. We will re-stock weekly until concert based on demand and supply availability. Sorry, we are unable to reserve/hold items.
Other performance items such as make-up and hair accessories will be arriving shortly. We always have tights on hand, but please don't wait until the end to purchase in case we happen to sell out of your size. All jazz dancers will need to purchase tan tights for the show if you do not already wear them in class. More details for each class requirement should be sent via email soon.

Love your dancer's recital costume? Book a portrait session with us so you can remember and admire it forever! Sign up online to book an appointment; one time slot per costume so please sign up accordingly.
Include first and last name:
- Purchase your Dance Photo package via your PDD account in advance. One package per costume. Package prices increase on photo days.
- Unedited photos: purchase this option (one per costumes) to receive all unedited photos taken. $10 per costume.
- Walk-ins are welcomed up to 2 hours before the last appointment. Be sure to purchase your package and get your photo ticket at the front desk first. Walk-ins will pay an additional $10 per costume, so book an appointment and pay in advance to avoid the increase.
- On photo day (June 18th, 19th, 20th), pick up your photo ticket prior to your appointment at the front desk to present to the photographer.
- Please arrive on-time and in costume with hair and make-up complete. Volunteer assistants will be on hand for touch ups and adjustments as needed.
*Please let us know prior to photo days if you sign up for a photo and are unable to attend so that we can open that time slot to others.
